There was a small surprise in North Lake where tenth ranked Lightning (11-15) edged 8th ranked Hawks (12-13) 99-98 on Saturday. Lightning made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward James Padgett (203-91, college: Maryland) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 15 rebounds. Swingman Corey Shervill (197) chipped in 25 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Matthew Adekponya (194-90) who recorded 26 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and American center Brian Carlwell (211-87, college: San Diego St.) added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively. Four Lightning and five Hawks players scored in double figures. Lightning moved-up to ninth place in League. Loser Hawks keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. Lightning will face league's leader Tigers in Willetton in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
