Everything went according to plan in Terrigal where seventh ranked Crusaders (9-8) outleveled 10th ranked Newcastle Hunters (3-16) 101-63 on Saturday. They outrebounded Newcastle Hunters 56-30 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Tye McGann who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. William Bates chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Crusaders' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Dane Suttle (198-89, college: Pepperdine) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Michael Wilson added 14 points respectively. Crusaders maintains seventh place in League with 9-8 record. Loser Newcastle Hunters keep the tenth position with 16 games lost. Crusaders will face higher ranked Spiders (#3) in Hornsby in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Newcastle Hunters will play on the road against Norths Soul Sports Bears (#4) in Crows Nest and hope to win that game.
