No shocking result in a game in Gold Coast where sixth ranked South West Metro Pirates (9-5) defeated 13th ranked Rollers (3-11) 83-75 on Saturday. South West Metro Pirates forced 19 Rollers turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Jeremy Kendle (186-88, college: Bellarmine) who scored 33 points (!!!). His fellow American import forward Tanner McGrew (203-93, college: W.Virg.Wesl., agency: Duran International) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was New Zealand guard Tobias Cameron (193-99) who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Adam Darragh (181-79, college: Martin Methodist) added 15 points respectively. Four Rollers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. South West Metro Pirates maintains sixth place in League with 9-5 record. Loser Rollers keep the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. South West Metro Pirates will face Toowoomba Mountaineers (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rollers will play against Toowoomba Mountaineers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
