Regular Season Round 19: Logan T. - Ipswich F. 97-107

There was an upset when much higher ranked Logan Thunder (13-2) lost to eighth ranked Force (8-7) in Loganholme 97-107 on Sunday. Force forced 19 Logan Thunder turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Logan Thunder's players. Logan Thunder was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American forward Markel Walker (185-90, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 18 rebounds and 6 assists. Her fellow American import forward Shenita Landry (188-87, college: Temple) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Guard Kate Gaze (173-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) answered with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Ula Motuga added 22 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Logan Thunder. Five Force and four Logan Thunder players scored in double figures. Force moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Logan Thunder keeps the second position with two games lost. Force will face Rollers (#13) in Gold Coast in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Logan Thunder will play on the road against Flames (#5) in Townsville and hope to win that game.
