Regular Season Round 21: Whittlesea City - Werribee D. 84-82

There was an upset in Mill Park where higher ranked Devils (9-11) were edged by twelfth ranked Whittlesea City (2-19) 84-82 on Sunday. Whittlesea City forced 22 Devils turnovers. Strangely Devils outrebounded Whittlesea City 41-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Jonathan Maybank who scored 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Aidan Zeverona chipped in 24 points and 7 rebounds. Four Whittlesea City players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jeremy Smith (190, college: Nicholls St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 8 assists (on 17-of-20 shooting from the field) and forward Nathan Wilson (201-85, college: N.Greenville) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Whittlesea City maintains twelfth place in League with 2-19 record. Loser Devils keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. Whittlesea City will face higher ranked Stingrays (#11) in Geelong in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
