There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Sutherland Sharks (3-16) beat at home higher ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (10-9) 79-67 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American Isaac Turner (191-92, college: St.Vincent) who scored 26 points. His fellow American import swingman Josh Biber (196-91, college: Brown) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Biber attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Polish swingman Stefan Blaszczynski (196-84, college: Nicholls St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Kyle Painter added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sutherland Sharks maintains eleventh place in League with 3-16 record. Loser Manly Warringah Sea Eagles keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Sutherland Sharks will face league's leader Sydney City Comets in Alexandria in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
