Regular Season Round 14: Chongqing - Henan 115-121

NBL top team - Henan (12-2) added another victory to their record on Wednesday. This time they beat eighth ranked Chongqing (7-7) in Lanling 121-115. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-20. But Chongqing won third quarter 34-28. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) scored 44 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Yuxing Jiang (195-95) chipped in 34 points (!!!) during the contest. Ukrainian center Vladyslav Koreniuk (210-94, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 22 rebounds and Yaoyang Guo scored 28 points and 7 assists. Four Henan and five Chongqing players scored in double figures. Henan have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-2 record. Chongqing at the other side keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Lhasa and Fujian. Henan are looking forward to face league's second-placed Shaanxi W. in Xian in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chongqing will play on the road against Luoyang (#5) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
