Regular Season Round 14: Luoyang - Anhui 135-123

The game in Luoyang was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Anhui (8-6) played at the court of sixth ranked Luoyang (9-5). Luoyang defeated Anhui 135-123 on Wednesday. Luoyang made 37-of-44 free shots (84.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Anhui's players. The best player for the winners was American point guard Russ Smith (183-91, college: Louisville) who scored 76 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists. South Sudanese-Lebanese center Ater Majok (208-87, college: Connecticut) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 19 rebounds. Luoyang's coach Nan Huo used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and his fellow American import point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) added 40 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Luoyang and five Anhui players scored in double figures. Luoyang have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Guangxi and Guizhou. Loser Anhui dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Luoyang will meet at home Chongqing (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Anhui will play against Hunan and hope to secure a win.
