Fifth-ranked Tigers (13-9) gave a tough game to third ranked Lightning (17-5) in Bullcreek. Lightning managed to secure only three-point victory 87-84. However their fans expected easier game. Lightning players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Power forward Ashleigh Grant (187-97) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. American forward Sydnee Fipps (178, college: Cal-Davis) contributed with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Lightning players scored in double figures. Guard Kate Malpass (176-88) replied with 21 points and 4 assists and guard Stacey Barr (173-92, college: Idaho) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Tigers. Tigers' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Lightning maintains third position in League with 17-5 record having just five point less than leader Brisbane S. Tigers at the other side keep the fifth place with nine games lost.
