Regular Season Round 15: Fujian - Guizhou 93-107

Very expected game in Fuzhou where 10th ranked Fujian (7-8) was defeated by sixth ranked Guizhou (10-5) 107-93 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Guizhou. Fujian managed to win fourth quarter 28-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for Central African-American power forward James Mays (206-86, college: Clemson) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds. American point guard Mark Lyons (185-89, college: Arizona, agency: Higher Vision Sports) helped adding 37 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward LaQuinton Ross (203-92, college: Ohio St.) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and Ivorian-French point guard Mouloukou-Souleyman Diabate (181-87) scored 21 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Fujian's coach Jiulong Liu rotated eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guizhou have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Fujian lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Chongqing. Guizhou will meet Jiangsu L. (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fujian will play against Beijing (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
