No shocking result in a game in Belconnen where second ranked Rangers (14-7) won against 5th ranked Nationals (6-14) 63-53 on Saturday. Strangely Nationals outrebounded Rangers 47-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Lauren Scherf (196-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Aimie Clydesdale (177-93) who added 21 points during the contest. Forward Keely Froling (188-96, college: SMU) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Abigail Wehrung (177-95) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Rangers maintains second position in League with 14-7 record having just one point less than leader Brisbane S. Loser Nationals keep the fifth place with 14 games lost. Rangers will face Tornadoes (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Nationals will play against Spectres in East Burwood and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
