There was an upset in Townsville where second-ranked Logan Thunder (14-4) was rolled over by sixth ranked Flames (10-5) 89-60 on Saturday. Flames outrebounded Logan Thunder 43-28 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Logan Thunder's players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Darcy Garbin (187-94) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Mia Murray (184-88) who added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Flames players scored in double figures. Flames' coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Kate Gaze (173-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Mikhaela Donnelly (177-94) scored 10 points. Flames moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Logan Thunder keeps the second position with four games lost. Flames will face Clippers (#12) in Cotton Tree in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
