The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Iccan as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Iccan smashed bottom-ranked Triple E-Uda in Guayaquil 101-64. The game without a history. Iccan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Triple E-Uda's 30. The former international center Eduard Caicedo (196-90) fired 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international center Carlos Carcelen (202-81) chipped in 15 points and 4 steals. Four Iccan players scored in double figures. Venezuelan power forward Jean Pierre (205-91) produced 13 points and Carlos Ramon (-85) added 11 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Portviejo. Newly promoted Triple E-Uda still closes the standings with four games lost. Triple E-Uda will play next round against Leones trying to get back on the winning streak. Iccan will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Juvenil in Vinces.
