We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Sydney Uni S. (12-9) was outplayed at home by fifth ranked Hobart Chargers (11-9) 93-68 on Saturday. Hobart Chargers outrebounded Sydney Uni S. 44-27 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Sydney Uni S.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Kathleen Scheer (187-89, college: Duke) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists and forward Mikaela Ruef (190-90, college: Stanford) who added 22 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Hobart Chargers players scored in double figures. Point guard Sarah Graham (163-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists and Natalia Beaumont scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Hobart Chargers maintains fifth position in League with 11-9 record. Newly promoted Sydney Uni S. keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. Hobart Chargers will face Frankston Blues (#7) in Seaford in the next round. Sydney Uni S. will play on the road against the league's leader Lady Cobras in Kilsyth and hope to win that game.
