No shocking result in a game when first ranked Spectres (17-6) beat 6th ranked Tigers (7-15) in East Burwood 79-63 on Saturday. Spectres looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Quite impressive performance for power forward Simon Conn (206-83, college: Gardner-Webb) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). American center Dain Swetalla (206-86, college: Augustana, IL) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Spectres' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Ari Stewart (200-90, college: USC) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized British guard Daryl Corletto (193-81) added 19 points and 5 assists in the effort for Tigers. Spectres maintains first position in League with 17-6 record. Loser Tigers keep the sixth place with 15 games lost. Spectres will face Canberra Gunners (#7) in Belconnen in the next round where they are favorite. Tigers will play at home against Bendigo Braves and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
