Rather predictable result when second ranked Chargers (13-9) won against 4th ranked Sabres (10-12) in Cheltenham 98-83 on Saturday. Chargers outrebounded Sabres 40-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Quite impressive performance for American swingman Robert Heyer (190, college: Boise St.) who helped to win the game recording 31 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized South Sudanese swingman Mathiang Muo (196-87, college: Charleston So.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jerry Evans (203-90, college: Nevada) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and guard Alister Macdonald (186-92) added 21 points in the effort for Sabres. Four Sabres players scored in double figures. Chargers maintains second position in League with 13-9 record having just six point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Sabres keep the fourth place with 12 games lost. Chargers will face Frankston Blues (#7) in Seaford in the next round where they are favorite. Sabres will play at home against Canberra Gunners and hope to win that game.
