Very expected game when 7th ranked Canberra Gunners (4-18) lost to third ranked Dandenong Rangers (15-8) in Belconnen 79-89 on Saturday. Quite impressive performance for American forward Garrett Jackson (201-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import swingman Chauncey Orr (193-93, college: Hawaii Pacific) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Center Ben Allen (211-86, college: St.Mary's, CA) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Daniel Joyce (194-87) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Canberra Gunners. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dandenong Rangers maintains third position in League with 15-8 record having just nine point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Canberra Gunners keep the seventh place with 18 games lost. Dandenong Rangers will face NW Tasmania Thunder (#3) in Ulverstone in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Canberra Gunners will play on the road against the league's leader Spectres (#1) in East Burwood and hope to win that game.
