Regular Season Round 22: Mackay M. - Suncoast PC 115-104

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Maroochydore Clippers (4-10) lost on the road to first ranked Mackay Meteors (13-3) 115-104 on Saturday. Mackay Meteors dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Maroochydore Clippers' 42. Mackay Meteors looked well-organized offensively handing out 39 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Maroochydore Clippers' players. It was a very good performance for guard Shaun Bruce (190-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 21 assists. The former international forward Lucas Walker (202-84, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Mackay Meteors players scored in double figures. Mackay Meteors' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Breland Hogan (185, college: Grand Valley St.) replied with 41 points (!!!) and 4 assists and the former international forward Jeromie Hill (203-91, college: UTSA) added 23 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Maroochydore Clippers. Mackay Meteors maintains first position in League with 13-3 record. Loser Maroochydore Clippers dropped to the twelfth place with ten games lost. Mackay Meteors will have a break next round. Maroochydore Clippers will play against Townsville Heat (#3) and hope to win that game.
