Very expected game when 11th ranked Stingrays (4-18) were smashed by sixth ranked McKinnon C. (11-11) in Geelong 134-74 on Sunday. McKinnon C. dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Stingrays' 42. McKinnon C. forced 31 Stingrays turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Stingrays' players. Stingrays were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American forward Dillon Stith (200-92, college: St.Vincent) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds. Naturalized Croatian forward Ivan Platenik (201-83, college: Alaska-Anch.) contributed with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five McKinnon C. players scored in double figures. McKinnon C.'s coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Joel Mcfall (189-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists and American power forward Jordan Latham (206-91, college: Loyola, MD) added 22 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Stingrays. McKinnon C. maintains sixth position in League with 11-11 record. Loser Stingrays keep the eleventh place with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
