Regular Season Round 16: Shaanxi W. - Luoyang 107-86

An interesting game for Shaanxi W. (12-4) which hosted in Xian 4th ranked Luoyang (10-6). Second ranked Shaanxi W. had an easy win 107-86. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Luoyang. The game without a history. Shaanxi W. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Shaanxi W. outrebounded Luoyang 56-41 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds. The other American import guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) contributed with 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Shaanxi W. players scored in double figures. Shaanxi W.'s coach ZhengXiu Jiang felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Russ Smith (183-91, college: Louisville) replied with 38 points (!!!) and South Sudanese-Lebanese center Ater Majok (208-87, college: Connecticut) added 22 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Luoyang. Shaanxi W. have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-4 record behind leader Henan. Luoyang at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Anhui and Guangxi. Shaanxi W. are looking forward to face Hunan (#4) in Changsha in the next round. Luoyang will play on the road against Hebei X. and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
