Regular Season Round 6: Leones - Toros 82-73

Leading Toros (4-2) recorded its second loss in Managua. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Leones (2-4) 82-73. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 29-26 Toros' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 82-73 at the end of the game. Leones made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Toros turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. Leones players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Toros' players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American-Panamanian forward Adalberto Rojas (198-86) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Serbio Abea (191-78) chipped in 25 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Puerto Rican point guard Ryann Abraham (182-87, college: Appalachian St.) with 36 points (!!!) and Costa Rican forward Marcos Castrillo (201, college: W.New Mexico) scored 7 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leones moved-up to third place, which they share with Costa Caribe. Toros at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. They share it with Bufalos.
