Regular Season Round 16: Hebei X. - Henan 116-125

NBL top team - Henan (13-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat twelfth ranked Hebei X. (5-11) 125-116. The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 31-29 Hebei X.'s run in the last quarter cut the lead to 125-116 at the end of the game. Henan made 25-of-33 charity shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Hebei X. was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a quality performance of Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 50 points (!!!), 17 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals and American-Nigerian center Chris Otule (211-90, college: Marquette) who added 37 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 6 blocks during the contest. Four Henan players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) responded with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 17 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals and his fellow American import forward Brandon Costner (206-87, college: N.Carolina St.) scored 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Hebei X.'s coach JunPei Zhao rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Henan maintains first position with 13-3 record. Hebei X. lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 11 games lost. Henan will play against Beijing (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hebei X. will play against Luoyang and hopes to get back on the winning track.
