Regular Season Round 20: Melbourne T. - Sandringham S. 103-82

Everything could happen in Melbourne at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Tigers and 8th ranked Sabres had identical 5-15 record. This time Tigers used a home court advantage and outplayed the opponent from Cheltenham 103-82 on Sunday night. Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tigers made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized British forward Louella Tomlinson (193-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 blocks and Briana Babic who added 27 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. Naturalized Italian guard Nicole Romeo (168-89, college: Washington) responded with 26 points and 5 assists and American swingman Jasmine Gill (185-90, college: JMU, agency: Two Points) scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Sabres' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Tigers maintains sixth position in League with 6-15 record. Loser Sabres keep the eighth place with 16 games lost. Tigers will face league's second-placed Lady Braves in Bendigo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sabres will play at home against Nationals (#5) and hope to win that game.
