Regular Season Round 5: Iccan - Juvenil 91-67

National League top team - Iccan (4-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Juvenil (1-3) in Guayaquil 91-67. Iccan dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Juvenil's 36. Colombian-Venezuelan swingman Cesar Silva (190-81) stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and the former international center Carlos Carcelen (202-81) chipped in 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Iccan players scored in double figures. Iccan's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Venezuelan Nelson Palacios (192-92) responded with 25 points and Venezuelan guard Jovanni Diaz (195-92) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Iccan maintains first place with 4-1 record. Juvenil lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with three games lost. Iccan will play against Piratas (#3) in Ibarra in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Juvenil will play at home against Triple E-Uda (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
