Regular Season Round 18: Henan - Luoyang 123-98

Leader Henan delivered the fifteenth win on Friday night. This time they crushed 6th ranked Luoyang (11-7) 123-98. The game without a history. Henan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 26 Luoyang turnovers and outrebounded them 52-30 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) who scored 48 points (!!!) and 4 steals. American-Nigerian center Chris Otule (211-90, college: Marquette) chipped in a double-double by scoring 28 points, 22 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was South Sudanese-Lebanese center Ater Majok (208-87, college: Connecticut) who recorded a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and forward Shuai Liu (196-95) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Henan have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-3 record. Luoyang at the other side dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Anhui. Henan are looking forward to face Hunan (#4) in Changsha in the next round. Luoyang will play at home against Beijing and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
