An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Riobamba. Second ranked Leones faced 4th placed Importadora. Host Leones (5-2) defeated guests from Ambato (3-3) 68-62. Leones brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Corbin Jackson (203-92, college: Florida Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Dominican point guard Jose Acosta (185-92) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American forward Tavares Sledge (203-92, college: USC Aiken, agency: Interperformances) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import swingman Jerel Blocker (193-88, college: Lee) added 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Importadora. Four Importadora players scored in double figures. Leones have a solid series of four victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Iccan lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Importadora at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Barcelona and Juvenil. Leones will play against league's leader Iccan in Guayaquil in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Importadora will play at home against Portviejo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
