Regular Season Round 22: Jiangsu L. - Shaanxi W. 91-117

Very expected game when 13th ranked Jiangsu L. (2-20) was smashed by second ranked Shaanxi W. (17-5) in He Fei 117-91. The game was mostly controlled by Shaanxi W.. Jiangsu L. was better in third quarter 32-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shaanxi W. players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American forward Troy Gillenwater (205-88, college: N.Mexico St.) fired a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The other American import guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) chipped in 37 points (!!!) and 6 assists. Coach ZhengXiu Jiang's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Xing-Chen Wang (196-93) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Palestinian forward Michael Nunnally (203-86, college: Pacific) added 20 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shaanxi W. have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-5 record behind leader Henan. Jiangsu L. lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 20 games lost. Shaanxi W.'s next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Dongbu (#14) in Nanjin which should be another easy win for them. Jiangsu L. will play at home against Hebei X. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
