Regular Season Round 24: Henan - Jiangsu L. 119-95

Leader Henan delivered the twentieth victory. This time they crushed 13th ranked Jiangsu L. (2-22) 119-95. The game without a history. Henan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Jiangsu L.'s 54. Henan players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Jiangsu L.'s players. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. The winners were led by Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) who scored that evening 44 points (!!!) and 7 assists and American-Nigerian center Chris Otule (211-90, college: Marquette) supported him with 20 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 blocks (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Even 30 points and 5 rebounds by forward MingYang Gao (196-88) did not help to save the game for Jiangsu L.. Forward Xing-Chen Wang (196-93) added 18 points and 12 rebounds. Five Henan and four Jiangsu L. players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Henan maintains first position with 20-4 record. Jiangsu L. lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 22 games lost. Henan's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Dongbu (#14) in Nanjin which should be another easy win for them. Jiangsu L. will play on the road against Luoyang and hope to win that game.
