Regular Season Round 9: Triple E-Uda - Importadora 68-120

Bottom-ranked Triple E-Uda (0-9) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to fourth ranked Importadora (5-3) 120-68. The game without a history. Importadora led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Triple E-Uda to just 4 points in first quarter. Importadora dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Triple E-Uda's 36 and made 26-of-30 charity shots (86.7 percent) during the game. Importadora had a 41-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Importadora especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 38 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Triple E-Uda's players. American forward Tavares Sledge (203-92, college: USC Aiken, agency: Interperformances) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 21 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import swingman Jerel Blocker (193-88, college: Lee) accounted for 29 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Five Importadora players scored in double figures. Venezuelan Yolvier Romero (-95) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds and Venezuelan power forward Jean Pierre (205-91) added 24 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Triple E-Uda in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Importadora moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Triple E-Uda still closes the standings with nine games lost. Importadora will play against league's leader Iccan in Guayaquil in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Triple E-Uda will play on the road against Barcelona (#7) in Guayaquil and hopes to get finally their first victory.
