No shocking result in a game when second ranked Star Hotshots (4-1) smashed on the road 9th ranked Phoenix (2-5) 100-81 on Wednesday. Star Hotshots made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Phoenix turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Star Hotshots made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was American guard Malcolm Hill (198-95, college: Illinois, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Paul Lee (185-89) chipped in 18 points. Five Star Hotshots players scored in double figures. American Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 23 rebounds and 4 blocks and forward Doug Kramer (193-83) added 4 points and 17 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Star Hotshots have a solid series of four victories in a row. Despite that victory Star Hotshots went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with B.Ginebra and Rain or Shine. Phoenix lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with five games lost. Star Hotshots will face B.Ginebra (#4) in Manila in the next round. Phoenix will play on the road against B.Ginebra (#4) in Manila and hope to win that game.
