Regular Season Round 4: Franca - Bauru 90-88

Fifth-ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (2-3) was very close to win a game against top-ranked Vivo/Franca (6-0) in Sao Paulo on Wednesday. Vivo/Franca managed to secure only two-point victory 90-88. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-17. But Paschoalotto/Bauru won second period 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vivo/Franca looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Antonio Ferreira (200-94) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Joao-Pedro Demetrio (208-95) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Vivo/Franca's coach Helinho Garcia used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Kendall Anthony (173-93, college: Richmond) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 assists and swingman Gabriel Galvanini (203-98) added 24 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Paschoalotto/Bauru. Vivo/Franca have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Paschoalotto/Bauru at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Paulistano. Vivo/Franca are looking forward to face America (#7) in Rio Preto in the next round where they are favorite. Paschoalotto/Bauru will play at home against the league's second-placed Mogi and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
