Regular Season Round 5: SM Beermen - NLEX RW 100-103

Important game to mention about took place in Manila. Fourth ranked NLEX RW (5-2) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked SM Beermen (3-2) 103-100 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SM Beermen. NLEX RW players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American-Mexican forward Aaron Fuller (198-89, college: USC, agency: Haylett Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 22 rebounds. Center JR Quinahan (198-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American forward Wendell McKines (198-88, college: N.Mexico St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Arwind Santos (193-81) added 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for SM Beermen. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. NLEX RW moved-up to second place. Defending champion SM Beermen keeps the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with TNT Ka Tropa. NLEX RW will play against Globalport (#10) in Pasig in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SM Beermen will play on the road against Alaska Aces (#11) in Makati and hopes to get back on the winning track.
