Regular Season Round 6: TNT Ka Tropa - Blackwater 117-96

Rather expected game when 8th ranked Blackwater (4-4) was smashed by sixth ranked TNT Ka Tropa (4-3) in Makati 117-96 on Wednesday. TNT Ka Tropa looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for American swingman Glen Rice-Jr (198-91, college: Georgia Tech) who led his team to a victory with 31 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. Forward Kelly Williams (201-82, college: Oakland) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four TNT Ka Tropa players scored in double figures. American swingman Henry Walker (198-87, college: Kansas St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds and power forward John-Paul Erram (203-89) added 18 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Blackwater. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. TNT Ka Tropa maintains sixth position with 4-3 record. Loser Blackwater dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. TNT Ka Tropa will face higher ranked Meralco Bolts (#3) in Manila in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Blackwater will play on the road against the league's leader B.Ginebra (#1) in Manila and hope to win that game.
