Regular Season Round 6: Alaska Aces - SM Beermen 90-79

Alaska Aces' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat SM Beermen (3-3) 90-79. Alaska Aces forced 23 SM Beermen turnovers. Forward LaDontae Henton (198-92, college: Providence) had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized American forward Calvin Abueva (190-88) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Arwind Santos (193-81) with 29 points and 9 rebounds and center June-Mar Fajardo (210-89) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alaska Aces maintains eleventh position with 1-6 record. Defending champion SM Beermen keeps the eighth place with three games lost. Alaska Aces will play against higher ranked Globalport (#9) in Pasig in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. SM Beermen's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Manila to the arena Rain or Shine.
