Regular Season Round 6: Osasco B. - L.Sorocaba 82-65

Osasco B. can celebrate finally their first win this season after eight consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Liga Sorocaba (4-4) 82-65 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-65. Osasco B. dominated on the defensive end, holding Liga Sorocaba to just 7 points in second quarter. They made 28-of-34 free shots (82.4 percent) during the game. Osasco B. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Power forward Luiz-Paulo Dos-Santos (210-89, college: Slippery Rock) scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international power forward William Drudi (206-81) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Osasco B. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Anton Cook (188-95, college: SE Oklahoma) with 21 points and center Lucao Moraes (210-94) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Osasco B. maintains eighth position with 1-8 record. Loser Liga Sorocaba dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Osasco B. will meet at home higher ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Liga Sorocaba will play against Paschoalotto/Bauru and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
