Regular Season Round 7: Meralco Bolts - TNT Ka Tropa 107-113

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Meralco Bolts (6-2) against sixth ranked TNT Ka Tropa (5-3) on Wednesday night. Host Meralco Bolts were defeated by TNT Ka Tropa in a tough game in Manila 107-113. Meralco Bolts were plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Glen Rice-Jr (198-91, college: Georgia Tech) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Jayson Castro-William (180-86) accounted for 27 points (made all of his eight free throws) for the winning side. Four TNT Ka Tropa players scored in double figures. American power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) came up with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 24 rebounds and 4 assists and Baser Amer added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Meralco Bolts in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TNT Ka Tropa moved-up to fourth place, which they share with SM Beermen. Meralco Bolts at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with NLEX RW. TNT Ka Tropa will play against league's second-placed NLEX RW in Makati City in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Meralco Bolts will play at home against Alaska Aces and hope to get back on the winning track.
