Regular Season Round 6: Bauru - America 104-81
Date: September 6, 2017
No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (4-5) smashed at home 7th ranked America (2-6) 104-81. The game was mostly controlled by Paschoalotto/Bauru. America was better in fourth quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Paschoalotto/Bauru made 28-of-33 charity shots (84.8 percent) during the game, while America only scored twelve points from the stripe. They outrebounded America 49-23 including a 36-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Paschoalotto/Bauru players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by America's players. 26 personal fouls committed by America helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International forward Renan Lenz (206-90, college: Utah) notched 21 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Gabriel Galvanini (203-98) supported him with 21 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Four Paschoalotto/Bauru players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 4 assists by American point guard Darnell Artis (175, college: Gwynedd-Mercy) did not help to save the game for America. Power forward Willian Pessoa (202-96) added 11 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Despite that victory Paschoalotto/Bauru went down to sixth position due to points difference. America lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with six games lost. Paschoalotto/Bauru's next round opponent will be higher ranked Liga Sorocaba (#5) in Sorocabana and it may be quite challenging game. America will play at home against Pinheiros and hope to win that game.
