Very important is a road loss of second ranked Leones (8-6) against fourth ranked Importadora (8-6) on Wednesday night. Visiting Leones were defeated by Importadora in Ambato 80-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Leones. They outrebounded Leones 36-18 including 26 on the offensive glass. Importadora players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Venezuelan forward Jhon Romero (199-85) scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Tavares Sledge (203-92, college: USC Aiken, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 13 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Venezuelan center Javinger Vargas (202-90) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Andres Conchambay (-87) scored 10 points and 5 assists. Five Importadora and four Leones players scored in double figures. Leones' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Importadora moved-up to third place, which they share with Piratas and Leones.
