Regular Season Round 7: Rain or Shine - SM Beermen 96-103

There was a minor upset in Manila where 5th ranked Rain or Shine (4-2) was defeated by seventh ranked SM Beermen (5-3) 103-96. 26 personal fouls committed by Rain or Shine helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for center June-Mar Fajardo (210-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. American guard Chris Ross (185-85, college: Marshall) contributed with 27 points for the winners. American forward JNathan Bullock (196-87, college: Cleveland St., agency: SDJ Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and guard Maverick Ahanmisi (188-91, college: Minnesota) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Rain or Shine. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with TNT Ka Tropa. Rain or Shine at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. SM Beermen's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked KIA Picanto (#12) in Makati City and are hoping to win another game. Rain or Shine will play against Phoenix (#11) and hope to win that game.
