Regular Season Round 7: SM Beermen - B.Ginebra 107-103

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked B.Ginebra (7-2) in Manila on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked SM Beermen (5-3) 107-103. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of B.Ginebra. It was a great evening for American forward Terrence Watson (200-87, college: Ball St., agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard Chris Ross (185-85, college: Marshall) helped adding 20 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side American forward Justin Brownlee (197-88, college: St.John's) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 blocks and point guard Lewis Tenorio (177-84) scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with TNT Ka Tropa. B.Ginebra at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. SM Beermen is looking forward to face bottom-ranked KIA Picanto (#12) in Makati City in the next round and are hoping to win another game. B.Ginebra's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Manila to the arena Rain or Shine.
