Regular Season Round 1: Castors Braine - Laarne 122-51

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Laarne (0-1) on the court of Castors Braine. Visitors were rolled over by Castors Braine 122-51. It looked good early as Laarne took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Castors Braine had a 29-5 second period charge getting the lead and Laarne was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 51-122. American center Celeste Trahan-Davis (186-85, college: Elizabeth City, agency: LBM Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Castors Braine players scored in double figures. Castors Braine's coach Ainars Zvirgzdins felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Tine Putman (170-82) answered with 9 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Bieke Vanrenterghem (175-86) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Laarne. Castors Braine will play against B.Willebroek on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Laarne will play against Tulikivi (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
