Regular Season Round 8: Phoenix - Rain or Shine 111-116

Very predictable result when fifth ranked Rain or Shine (5-3) beat on the road 11th ranked Phoenix (2-7) 116-111. Rain or Shine players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The winners were led by American forward JNathan Bullock (196-87, college: Cleveland St., agency: SDJ Sports) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists and center Raymond Almazan (206-89) supported him with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Four Rain or Shine players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 33 points (!!!), 20 rebounds and 4 assists by American Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) did not help to save the game for Phoenix. Naturalized Canadian guard Matthew Wright (193-91, college: St.Bonaventure) added 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Rain or Shine went down to sixth position due to points difference. Phoenix lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with seven games lost. Rain or Shine's next round opponent will be Alaska Aces (#9) in Makati. Phoenix will play on the road against SM Beermen in Manila and hope to win that game.
