No shocking result in a game when third ranked Paulistano (6-4) crushed 7th ranked America (2-8) in Sao Paolo 109-58 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Paulistano led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Paulistano shot 20 for 27 from the free-throw line, while America only scored four points from the stripe. They outrebounded America 58-29 including a 44-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Paulistano looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by America's players. America was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American-Peruvian point guard Kyle Fuller (185-92, college: Vanderbilt) who helped to win the game recording 27 points. International forward Lucas Dias Silva (209-95) contributed with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) for the winners. Four Paulistano players scored in double figures. American point guard Darnell Artis (175, college: Gwynedd-Mercy) answered with 14 points and center Ygor Viana (208-86) added 10 points in the effort for America. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Paulistano have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 6-4 record having just three points less than leader Franca. America lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Paulistano will face Paschoalotto/Bauru (#5) on the road in the next round. America will play against Osasco B. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
