Regular Season Round 8: Meralco Bolts - Alaska Aces 106-78

The game with biggest result difference took place in Manila. Local Meralco Bolts (7-2) outscored 9th ranked Alaska Aces (3-7) 106-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Alaska Aces. Meralco Bolts made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game, while Alaska Aces only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Alaska Aces 53-39 including a 44-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Cris-Michael Tolomia (191-93) supported him with 24 points (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!). Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Meralco Bolts players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds by American forward LaDontae Henton (198-92, college: Providence) did not help to save the game for Alaska Aces. Point guard Jayvee Casio (178-86) added 18 points for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Meralco Bolts maintains second position with 7-2 record behind leader B.Ginebra. Alaska Aces at the other side keep the ninth place with seven games lost. Meralco Bolts' next round opponent will be Globalport (#10) in Pasig and are hoping to win another game. Alaska Aces will play at home against Rain or Shine and hope to win that game.
