Regular Season Round 8: TNT Ka Tropa - Star Hotshots 104-99

There was no surprise in Makati where 7th ranked Star Hotshots (5-4) were defeated by fourth ranked TNT Ka Tropa (7-3) 104-99. TNT Ka Tropa made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by American swingman Glen Rice-Jr (198-91, college: Georgia Tech) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!), 19 rebounds and 9 assists and point guard Jayson Castro-William (180-86) supported him with 12 points and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 18 points and 18 rebounds by American-Icelandic forward Kristofer Acox (198-93, college: Furman) did not help to save the game for Star Hotshots. Power forward Ian-Paul Sangalang (201-91) added 17 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. TNT Ka Tropa have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Star Hotshots at the other side keep the seventh position with four games lost. TNT Ka Tropa's next round opponent will be league's leader B.Ginebra in Manila and it will be for sure the game of the week. Star Hotshots will play at home against KIA Picanto (#12) and hope to win that game.
