Undefeated leader USAC delivered the sixth consecutive victory on Monday night. This time they crushed bottom-ranked URL (0-5) 66-31 in Guatemala. The game without a history. USAC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding URL to just 4 points in third quarter and to 13 points in second half. USAC dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to URL's 20. They also forced 19 URL turnovers. Forward Victor Sosa (190-88) stepped up and scored 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and the former international swingman Miguel Gonzalez (187-90) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds. USAC's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sergio Hurtarte (-90) responded with 8 points and 5 rebounds and guard Juan Sandoval (172-96) scored 4 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for USAC. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. URL lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. USAC will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. URL will play against Club Force (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
