Regular Season Round 9: Meralco Bolts - Globalport 100-93

PBA top team - Meralco Bolts (9-2) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat tenth ranked Globalport (3-8) in Manila 100-93. They outrebounded Globalport 54-36 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Meralco Bolts looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Globalport's players. American power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) nailed a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 22 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side and guard Chris Newsome (187, college: N.Mexico Highlands) accounted for 28 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Naturalized American forward Sean Anthony (193-86) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Australian forward Bradwyn Guinto (198) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Globalport in the defeat. Four Meralco Bolts and five Globalport players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Meralco Bolts maintains first place with 9-2 record. Globalport lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Alaska Aces.
