A very interesting game took place in Brussels. It ended with only one-point home defeat of Basic-Fit Brussels (0-1) to Spirou Charleroi (1-0) 66-65 on Saturday evening. Spirou Charleroi players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American players dominated the game. Scott Thomas (198-89, college: Bowling Green) fired 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Seth Tuttle (203-92, college: N.Iowa) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard K.T. Harrell (193-92, college: Auburn) produced 10 points and 6 rebounds and forward Jeremy Simmons (204-89, college: Charleston) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Spirou Charleroi's next round opponent will be Antwerp Giants (#5) at home. Basic-Fit Brussels will play against Kangoeroes in Willebroek and hope to win that game.
