Regular Season Round 1: Atleticos - Comuna 63-78

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Caracas: Comuna (#2) and Atleticos (#6). Atleticos were defeated at home 63-78 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Atleticos were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Colombian point guard Jorge Leon (188-79) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. Swingman Victor Calderon (195) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Comuna players scored in double figures. Guard Endreso Ramos (185-95) answered with 15 points and Jefferson Larriba added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Atleticos. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Comuna will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Atleticos will play on the road against Guaros 2 (#3) in Barquisimeto to get more than just one victory in their record.
