Regular Season Round 1: Saint Vallier - Saint-Quentin 81-62

Saint Vallier used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Saint-Quentin 81-62 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-62. Saint Vallier looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Quite impressive performance for American swingman Drake Reed (194-87, college: Austin Peay St., agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) contributed with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Saint Vallier players scored in double figures. Saint Vallier's coach Jean-Sebastien Chardon used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canadian-British power forward Maurice Walker (208-91, college: Minnesota) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American swingman Daviin Davis (193-85, college: Weber St.) added 22 points in the effort for Saint-Quentin. Saint Vallier will face ALS Basket (#10) in Andrezieux in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saint-Quentin will play at home against Orchesien BC and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
